- The Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng has refuted allegations that she is involved in the growing of Cannabis in the country as well as blocking other companies that would like to participate in the same trade.
- The Minister’s response follows reports in the media alleging that the Minister is one of the board members of Together Pharma, an Israeli company involved in Cannabis growing in Uganda.
- SoftPower News understands that the suspension of the company’s license followed demands from the Cabinet and especially the Minister of Investment, Evelyn Anite who questioned how the company had been licensed to operate in the growth of the lucrative crop.
- It is claimed that Together Pharma was able to secure a license due to influence by the Minister Jane Aceng who is said to be a board member.
