- A business tax on gross sales by Costa Mesa’s cannabis industry will be reduced from 6 percent to 1 percent this week.
- The City Council approved the reduction March 17 at the request of local business owners, who said they were having trouble competing when other communities had a much lower local tax.
- I think now more than ever is the time to keep the tax low, Councilman Allan Mansoor said, referring to the extreme reduction in sales stemming from the coronavirus.
